Five years ago, life brought me the chance to be an English Teacher. Secretly I had always desired to be a teacher, but an English Teacher?? I promise you it had never been my plan.
I remember that the first months were challenging, I used to stay awake at 2 AM preparing my lesson plan and material ...then, things got better and thanks to my coworkers, Supervisor's advices and Internet help :) I could start enjoying the art of teaching.
In my opinion, being a teacher requires to love your students, because if you love them you will make your biggest effort to give them quality lessons everyday, and you will look for self-actualization in order to accomplish your objective.
This necessity lead me to study an online Bachelor Degree in Teaching English in one of the best schools: Universidad Veracruzana; located in the State of Veracruz, this school gave me the opportunity to start learning about the principles of English Teaching and opened my mind by forcing me to think beyond Teaching Methods to get a deeper understanding of what Teaching and Learning English implies. Sadly, I was unable of continuing my studies due the demanding duties I had to accomplish on that time.
Then, I started looking for a new opportunity, and a Master Degree in Teaching English appeared... it has been one of the best experiences in my life. I have had the opportunity to meet great people and even though we are not living in the same city, I know I can count on them. This project is almost finished, but I will keep all my teachers and classmates in my heart, because they helped me to become a better teacher, but mostly because they enriched my life with their presence.
By creating this blog, I hope to stay in contact with all those amazing teachers that had touched my life, so we can continue sharing ideas, material, and anecdotes. In addition, I would like it to be a source to those that are starting on this inspiring and at the same time, demanding career.
